WBPSC Syllabus 2024
West Bengal Public Service Commission is a body created to conduct Civil Service Exam in West Bengal. The commission is also responsible for releasing the syllabus, exam pattern and other materials. As per Article-315, There shall be a Public Service Commission for the Union and a Public Service Commission for each State. Hence the WBPSC is created for the state of West Bengal. West Bengal Public Service Commission conducts exams in three stages, Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination & Interviews. The Prelims is the first stage of the exam where the question is based on objective type MCQs & it has only one paper. You must qualify for the prelims to appear in the main examination. The main exam has 8 papers consisting of 200 marks for each paper. The interview is the last stage of the full exam process. 1. Preliminary Examination
The Prelim exam is the first stage of the exam, it consists of 2 papers based on MCQ-type questions with 100 marks each.
2. Main Examination
The main exam is divided into 2 parts, Written Examination and Interview tests. The Written exam has 8 papers with MCQ and essay-type questions which has 1600 marks in total. The main exam is the most important section of the whole examination process. the marks obtained in the main exam will determine your overall ranking in the final list.
1. Preliminary Examination
The WBPSC Prelims will consist of only one paper on General Studies based on 200 Objective Types of questions. We have provided the Prelim Exam Syllabus & the Exam pattern below.

3. Interview
The interview is the last stage of the whole examination process which is also known as the Personality Test. Based on the merit list ranking of the main examination candidates are selected for the Interview/Personal Test. The interview will assess the candidate’s personality, alertness of mind, intellectual & Moral integrity, leadership quality and the range of the candidate’s interests.
